🚢 Summer in the City: Your Guide to What’s On in Liverpool this Summer 2026
Welcome to Liverpool! If your ship is docking on the Mersey over the next few months, you are in for a treat. Liverpool is world-famous for its music, culture, maritime history, and legendary hospitality.
When you step off the gangway and finish recharging your phone or relaxing at the Liverpool Seafarers Centre, you might want to head into town to experience the local culture and amenities.
From massive music festivals to global football fever, here is your ultimate guide to what is happening across Liverpool in Summer 2026.
⚽️ 1. World Cup Fever (June 11th – July 19th)
The biggest sporting event on the planet is taking over the summer! Because the 2026 World Cup is being hosted across North America, the time difference means many of the live matches will kick off late in the evening or during the night UK time.
The Vibe: Electric. Liverpool is a city completely obsessed with football. Even if you can't catch the live games during your shift, the city's sports bars, pubs, and fan zones will be buzzing all day with highlights, debates, and tournament energy.
Where to go: Head to Concert Square or the Baltic Triangle, where massive screens and local fans will be soaking up the atmosphere.
At the Centre: Don't forget, you can catch all of the games highlights at Liverpool Seafarers Centre. Come use our TV and bar area to check the latest scores.
🏳️🌈 2. Pride in Liverpool (Late July)
Liverpool is a city that prides itself on being safe, diverse, and deeply welcoming to everyone. In late July, the city centre transforms into a sea of color for Pride in Liverpool.
The Vibe: A massive, joyful street celebration featuring live music, food stalls, and a spectacular march through the city.
Why visit: It is a fantastic, high-energy day out where you can experience the true, inclusive spirit of the local community.
At the Centre: We fly the flag for diversity all year round. If you need a safe, quiet, or supportive space away from the crowds, our doors are always open.
🎸 3. International Beatleweek (August 26th – September 1st)
You can’t talk about Liverpool without mentioning the Fab Four! In late August, music fans from over 40 different countries descend on the city for International Beatleweek, celebrating the legacy of The Beatles.
The Vibe: Non-stop live music and a completely global crowd.
Where to go: The legendary Cavern Club on Mathew Street is the heart of the action. Dozens of tribute bands from all over the world will be playing live sets all day and night. It’s an absolute must-visit for any music lover stepping ashore.
🍦 4. Food, Drink & Waterfront Vibes (All Summer Long)
If your time ashore is short and you just want a great meal, a cold drink, and a beautiful walk, Liverpool’s waterfront is the place to be during the summer months.
The Royal Albert Dock: Just a short distance from the port, the historic docks are packed with restaurants, cafes, and world-class museums (like the Maritime Museum and Tate Liverpool). It’s the perfect place to grab a bite to eat or take some photos to send to family back home.
The Baltic Market: Located in the Baltic Triangle, this is Liverpool's first street food market. It's a brilliant, casual spot to try everything from local British classics to international dishes.
