Why we need your help...

Picture this scene:

You’re out at sea for weeks on end, far from land, battling the elements and the threat of piracy and corruption in war torn ports, and you have no way to contact your loved ones. And when you finally reach port, thousands of miles away from home, you have no guaranteed way to get back.

This is the reality that seafarers face every day as they work tirelessly to bring us the fuel for our cars, the items in our homes, and the food we eat.

It's important to remember that every time you turn on the TV, give your child a teddy bear, or enjoy a simple cup of tea, it's all thanks to the seafarers who made it possible.

We rely solely on the generosity of supporters and volunteers to continue our vital work. With your donations, we can make a difference to the lives of seafarers, both on land and on board ships.

Volunteer with Us

Can you spare a few hours of your time to help at our centre, offer a friendly welcome to visiting seafarers, provide local information, or drive our minibus? We’d also be grateful for help with maintenance at our centre and grounds, so if you have a skill or passion in DIY or gardening we’d love to hear from you.

Volunteer work is completely flexible, with no commitment, and can be a great way to boost your CV.

Donate

We’re always seeking donations of new warm clothing, electronics, games, books, confectionery and toiletries.  Donations can be made direct to our centre.

The cost of running our centre is our biggest overhead.  Financial donations can help ensure that we can continue to open daily to provide a safe haven for travelling seafarers.

Businesses

There are many ways in which the corporate community can support us, from Corporate Social Responsibility schemes to fundraising and volunteering initiatives. We are keen to forge partnerships with our local business community who rely on our international trading port, as well as the wider maritime sector.

Faith Groups

Being a cross-denominational charity, Liverpool Seafarers Centre is always looking to expand our partnerships with groups of all faiths. We are particularly keen to forge greater links with local Muslim, Hindus and Sikh communities as well as other Christian denominations. Together, we can make a difference to the lives of Seafarers.
