Liverpool Seafarers Centre Celebrates "Great Place to Work" Award and Thanks Our Amazing Volunteers!

Volunteers at Liverpool Seafarers Centre

We are delighted to announce that Liverpool Seafarers Centre has been certified as one of the UK's Best Places to Work by Great Place to Work®! This incredible recognition comes just in time for #VolunteerWeek (June 2nd – 8th), making our celebrations even more special.

This award is a true testament to the exceptional commitment we have to fostering a supportive, engaging, and fulfilling environment for everyone involved with Liverpool Seafarers Centre, especially our invaluable volunteers. They are truly the backbone of the Centre, providing vital support to seafarers visiting the Port of Liverpool, and we are proud of the dedicated team we have built here at Liverpool Seafarers Centre.

A Culture Built on Trust and Dedication

This certification highlights the positive workplace culture we have at Liverpool Seafarers Centre, one that's founded on trust, respect, and a shared dedication to our mission. What makes this even more significant is that it directly reflects the positive experiences of staff and volunteers who are essential to everything we do.

A Huge Thank You to Our Volunteers!

John Wilson, Chief Executive of Liverpool Seafarers Centre, shared his heartfelt gratitude: "We are absolutely delighted to be named one of the UK's Best Places to Work. This award is a testament to the dedication and passion of our entire team, both staff and volunteers, who help to provide a welcoming haven for seafarers. As we celebrate #VolunteerWeek, we want to extend a massive thank you to every single one of our volunteers. Their selfless commitment makes a profound difference in the lives of seafarers every single day."

We're so fortunate to have volunteers like Brian Bennett, who has been an integral part of our team for over 30 years. Brian perfectly encapsulates the spirit of our volunteers, saying, "As a Christian, I volunteer at Liverpool Seafarers Centre to follow Jesus’ teaching to “Love your neighbour as yourself.” I believe that God has blessed my life and that a lot of my contentment and happiness comes from serving others less fortunate than myself. Liverpool Seafarers Centre allows me to see how grateful seafarers are for the care and help we give them, and I enjoy working with a group of caring people who are of the same mind as myself.”
